<p>I think you just have to commit to the university with early decision, i.e. that’s the university you’re attending for at least next fall. It wouldn’t make sense for the university to force you to attend for all four years when illness, financial situations, etc. can alter the path that you want to take. You can always transfer to another university later, but who would want to leave a school like Rice?</p>
