Physics/Math Double Major at UChicago
GPA: 3.9 Physics, 3.7 Overall
Looking to apply to a graduate program in physics. My goal is to attend a top 15 grad school.

Here’s the thing: I’m a third year, and I think I have a decent enough transcript to have a shot at making one of these programs. Should I go ahead and apply?

Considerations:
(1) I might as well get a head start on research by applying now. Being an undergrad any longer is a waste of time.
(2) If I wait I’ll have an even better transcript and better odds of acceptance.
(3) Can I possibly apply this year and upon rejection continue at UChicago another year and then reapply to grad school? Has this been done? Is it frowned upon?

Thanks for your opinions.
