Very interesting. I found this online: It is not for sale or use in several states, including AK, CA, CT, FL, ME, RI, VT, or the District of Columbia. It would be interesting to know whether early onset colorectal cancer is less prevalent in these states … although maybe that’s not something that can be directly linked, since I am sure that people in those states consume plenty of foods produced in states that allow its use.
Thank you for the Nature link. My sister and I have been treated for very similar colorectal cancer (similar to each other in age of onset and type of cancer) which has been puzzling to us because no one else in our family has had any type of cancer. So we have been searching for any info on possible environmental causes. I do not think picloram is likely to be the culprit since it seems we did not live in areas where picloram was used, but the paper appears to include an interesting discussion of various pesticides and other factors. Will have to read it more closely.
