Don’t tell me!!! I have a Dd in Turkey, in a city that is the posterchild for “catastrophe waiting it to happen in the event of an earthquake.” (Istanbul)… :(

anxiousmom, have you heard from your D?

Earthquake in Hawaii yesterday, too.

Goodness. Anxiousmom, have you heard from your D yet. Prayers.

Oh, yes! I’m sorry - I shouldn’t have been so alarmist. The earthquake in Turkey was actually far away from Istanbul; I was reacting to 3 major articles in the newspapers in the last few weeks discussing the problems with apartment construction in Istanbul and the lack of open space, difficulty getting emergency vehicles on the roads, and how it is overdue for a major earthquake since it is on a major earthquake fault… scary stuff. But Dd is okay - and actually on a plane right now coming home for a two-week visit!!! ![]()
Here’s one article: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/25/science/earth/25quake.html?scp=2&sq=earthquake+istanbul&st=nyt

Anxiousmom-We are glad that your daughter is fine.

my motherland! D:
