Easiest/hardest majors in terms of workload?

I want to understand how time consuming certain majors are compared to others.

I’m a math major. It’s not time consuming the sense of being a lot of work (there aren’t any labs or dense reading assignments, unless you count the textbooks), but homework problems can require a lot of thought. It also takes time to understand the material, probably to a greater extent than in most subjects. Basically, it can be time consuming or not depending on how quickly your mind works with math.

I’ve taken computer science classes, and they’re a lot of work because the projects take a long time. They give you a program to write, and you have to figure out how to write it, then actually write it (with comments) and debug it. I’ve never taken an engineering class, but I’m guessing they’re similar.

Time consuming majors would be majors with lots of courses with labs or large term projects. “Lab” includes art studio, performances for music or theater, or computer programming assignments.

I’m a Japanese major and I have too much time on my hands. On average, it only takes me about 10-15 minutes to finish my homework, and when I’m not reviewing grammar/vocabulary, I’m supplementing my Japanese by watching and listening to Japanese media like anime and Jpop. Of course, with any foreign language major, if you happen to be a native speaker of that language (for example, many Chinese majors at my university are native or heritage Chinese speakers) or you’re just good with learning foreign languages, you’re going to have an easier time with it than someone who isn’t.

I’m an education major and as I’m typing this I’m in my 6th hour at the library. I have to know and analyze tons of theories, and then I have classes for my concentration which are ALL writing enhanced :(( and then as I continue my program I’ll be writing lesson plans (which despite pop belief, takes a crazy amount of time) then there are classroom observation logs/analysis and all of these methodical courses etc.

I find general communication majors to be one of the easier ones, and nursing to be harder

Majors that have weekly labs (and subsequently, lab reports) as part of most of their course requirements are time consuming.
