East Coast Water Polo Schools, with Good Film Programs?

So I’m a junior that plays water polo, and I’m looking to play in college. My coach (who used to play/coach in college and is very knowledgeable about the NCAA landscape) thinks that by the end of my senior year I’ll definitely be able to play in college. Not anywhere in California, he said that’s out of the question since those teams are on a completely different level than this side of the country, but definitely anywhere on the east coast. Now, I’m interested in studying filmmaking in college, and I know there’s a very small list of water polo schools on the east coast and I’m not sure how many have good film programs. I get really good grades at a great private school, I’m shooting for a 34-35 range on my ACT, and my family is well enough to-do financially so I’m not concerned about my inability to get into any school. What I want to know is what east coast schools have BOTH varsity water polo teams (any division since the divisions don’t matter as much in water polo) and good film programs. I know that Johns Hopkins fits this bill and I’m actually visiting the school next weekend. But I don’t want to be limited to just one school, so what other schools meet these criteria? Thanks so much for any help, all is appreciated!

I think you need to focus your search on film schools, FIRST, and if you have the opportunity to play water polo as well, so much the better. If you are not a good enough water polo player at this point to be on the radar of varsity coaches, it is doubtful that you will be recruited to swim on a varsity team by the beginning of your Sr year. , which is when recruited athletes are notified of acceptances.
There are NOT too many good film
ograms back east . There are lots more here in Calif, starting with the best one at USC. Chapman is also well regarded for film

My husband and my niece, both from CA, played water polo in HS and came east for college and played club water polo (Boston College and Georgetown). You could try this link to locate teams:

Hi @pbbwpf!
Do you have Wesleyan (http://www.wesleyan.edu) on your radar? When you mention film school, I am not certain what aspect of filmmaking you are pursuing, but Wesleyan is renowned for their writing programs. They also have a beautiful pool and offer a great club water polo program in the fall.
Best of luck!

Wesleyan has one of the top ten film programs in the country. Johns Hopkins is not on this list:

Brown has a great water polo program, with many players from California. Brown has an interdisciplinary concentration (major) of Modern Culture & Media https://www.brown.edu/academics/modern-culture-and-media/undergraduate-program). Doug Liman (Brown '88) has done very well for himself as a producer. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0510731/

"Brown Motion Pictures (BMP)

Founded in 1987 by Doug Liman (director of The Bourne Identity), Dave Bartis (producer of The O.C.), and Steve Klinenberg, the student organization formerly known as Brown Television (BTV) quickly became one of the most active student groups on Brown’s campus, and one of the best-equipped student television stations in the country.

After transitioning from television broadcasting to an online streaming platform, the newly titled Brown University Motion Pictures (BMP) has moved quickly towards becoming a top tier student-run production house. Equipped with new, digital equipment including prosumer-grade cameras, lights, and audio equipment, and forging partnerships with other student groups and local businesses and production companies, BMP continues produce some of the highest quality student-made work of any production outfit on the net."
