Easter Basket Ideas??

I’m starting to put together Easter Baskets for my son and his roommate and I’m having trouble thinking of something original. I usually do breakfast bars, a few healthy snacks and some candy. Same old same old… I suppose that’s what they want, but if anyone wants to share a good idea I’m listening. Also, any ideas to hold the “stuff” other than just a basket??? I’m always so envious of creative people. They are moving into an apartment next year so I was trying to think of some household item, a big bowl or something.

My DD loves her big pasta pot…you could put some past dinner ingredients in it or some soup & chilli mixes. GREAT for them apartment next year too.

Or a small toolbox with a few basics (tape measure, hammer, screw drivers, duct tape, utility knife) mixed with the goodies.

Chapstick, combs, fingernail clippers, deodorent, Advil or Tylenol, cough drops, Scotch tape, post-it notes, pens, highlighters, along with your snacks and candy.

You could put it all in a big bowl with Easter grass underneath and put the colored plastic wrap around it. Tie wide ribbon around (like a traditional package) and tie in a bow on top.

I used to do great Easter baskets. Miss that…

Great ideas. I’ll pick some of those up today when I’m out. I like those sealed containers of bite-sized cookies. I wish I could send a chocolate bunny, but I’m afraid it would melt enroute.

Instead of the Easter basket idea, you could pay to treat them to a good meal at a nice restaurant near the college.

This year for the entire family, I 've bought small woven pails in pretty spring colors from Target’s bargain bins for $1 apiece. That’s all the stuff my family really needs. I’ve been wanting to stop the over the top Easters I have been doing, but everyone still wants a basket. For my two college boys, I am putting together a care box and sticking their pail with some small chocolates and jelly beans in there. I love mixing some surprise Harry Potter jelly beans in the mix, heh, heh.

I picked [Amazon.com: Tea Duckie Tea Infuser: Kitchen & Dining](http://www.amazon.com/DCI-Tea-Duckie-Infuser/dp/B004DDBUXQ) up at a local coffee shop today for the tea drinker in the family.

Last year when D said she didn’t want any candy in her Easter basket, the cost to fill the basket went from $ to $$$$.

That tea ducker is adorable!

My mother one year gave me a pair of Fiskar scissors, she put them in a paper sleeve to look like a bunny rabbit.

All my kids really want is chocolate and Peeps.
