Easy to make friends for running start students?

I’m going to be doing running start full time this coming fall at NSCC and I am kind of scared that I will not make any new friends. I didn’t really have any good friends at my highschool and I’m just hoping college is different.
Is anyone else in the same position as I am?

Be friendly, say hello to other students before/after class, maybe you’ll make some new friends. But if it’s a CC (or any school where you don’t live on campus) it’ll be a lot harder to make friends… many students will show up, go to class, and go home. The social scene will probably be pretty dead. See if there are clubs you could join on campus, chances are club members are more willing to make new friends and hang out.

If you’re living in dorms at school, it’s a lot easier to make friends. “Home” is still at school, you live right next door to dozens of other students, and everyone is new and scared and looking for friends. It’s a very different environment and much more social.

I don’t know what running start is but I’m guessing it’s similar to dual enrollment. I did dual enrollment for much of high school at my community college and didn’t have a problem making friends. You just have to reach out to people. Be friendly and introduce yourself. If you talk to the same people in your classes a lot, ask if they want to go to breakfast or something before/after class. It really just comes down to being outgoing.
