EC and volunteering done overseas

<p>Hi everyone!</p>

<p>So between graduating high school and starting community college, I studied for a year abroad. During our free time, my friends and I decided to volunteer at a therapy center. It was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. I wont be able to count it as the hours for volunteering, however, can I still use it in my personal statement? Would the admission people try to find out if I actually did this? I have no proof what so ever.</p>

<p>Also, what about the EC I had done there?</p>

<p>Of course you can use it as a personal statement. I don’t think they would try and find out if you actually did unless you somehow raise suspicion.</p>
