I wanted to know how Penn views extracurricular activities in the admission process, cuz i almost have absolutely no EC, but its due to the fact that i have a lot of family obligations and problems during my teen years, being the oldest and such.

I would explain those problems, but it can honestly be a bit of a hinderance. You don’t have to be insane, but being involved in things you’re passionate about can help separate you from other qualified applicants.

Indeed they are important. Penn places emphasis on leadership activities as well not just simply a laundry list of ECs.
