Econ 1110

Is econ 1110 easy (i.e. one of those classes you don’t need to go to lecture to)? I want to do a coop sometime junior year so I’m trying to finish a lot of classes. Unfortunately econ lecture is during my writing seminar.
Thanks in advance.

It’s not terribly hard, but it’s certainly not easy either. With some professors, lectures actually contain a lot of test material, so I wouldn’t risk not attending them.

If you have Dr. Wissink, the tests are sort of easy. She uses all powerpoint, so if you miss a lecture, you can just read the book, do the online homework, and read the slides. It’s better if you went to the discussions instead since they actually work out the problems that you’ll see in the tests.

I can confirm that information about Wissink. I had her last semester for 1120. For some reason, though, means tended to be lower for her 1110 class than her 1120.

I’ll put it this way–about half of Burkhauser’s final exam consisted of questions from the prelims.

Yep. Either go to lecture or read the book and you’re okay.

I prefer going to lecture actually…I hate reading. I took the class freshman year in spring 2009 and it was a breeze.
