econ 25 and mgmt 30a

i am an business econ major hoping to minor in accounting
a requirement to sign up for accounting is to take mgmt 30a
while i have to take econ 25 for my major
on the uci catalogue it states that econ 25 and mgmt 30a cannot both be taken for credit

does this mean i can take econ 25 and it will count towards the requirement for accounting or will i have to take both and just not be credited for one of them (mgmt 30)

where can i find the required courses for the business econ major?

the two classes might be the same or the materials taught in the class is very similar. IIRC they can be substituted for each other ala Econ students can management 30 for econ 25 credit.

Take mgmt 30a instead of econ 25.

mgmt 30a will prepare you to be more fluent in financial acctg than econ 25 will, which is fundamental and crucial for your later classes.

for some reason i recall someone (may or may not be from an advising office) telling me that Business Econ kids should just take Econ 25 because for some reason they have trouble with MGMT 30A counting for it, even though MGMT 30A more in-depth material. has someone talked to a counselor about this?
I’m not a Bus Econ major… so I just wanted to let you know/give you a heads up that just in case that that’s true. Although I’d find it a little silly if that was true.

They should count for the same credit. I know a handful of BusEcon majors that decided to take mgmt30a over econ 25.
