Econ core class order

Hey, I’m a math major considering switching to Math and Econ. I’m just wondering from you Econ majors whether there is a recommended order to take the Econ core series? Econ 100, 110, 120. Does it get confusing if someone takes 100A, 110A, 120A in same quarter?

On a tangent… I’m also curious as to why people take Econ 173/174. It seems to be one of the hardest electives for Econ majors and wondering the thought process behind choosing the class (looks good for employers, beneficial for jobs, people like rigor, etc.).

Thanks

Most econ/management science majors take the 100 and 120 series concurrently. You can choose to take the math equivalent of the econ120 series instead. Also, I dont think many people take the 110 series for that major but rather take either math171a-b or econ171/econ172a-b.

As for the 17x classes, yes people take them for employers and grad schools. Its not always about the name of the degree you graduated with but rather what you know.
