Does anyone want to get into this field? I know everyone wants to do the IB PE HF etc, but wondering if anyone has any idea about economic development and what schools are good for it.

It is something I was seriously considering before I fell into the investment banking trap. Having said that, I can see myself pursuing such a career in the future.

At Duke, the faculty recently launched DukeEngage which is a program that provides students with the opportunity to pursue domestic and international service projects/internships and covers 100% of the cost of living. I know some individuals who are working on healthcare and economic development in Africa and Asia, covered completely by Duke.

My intention is to work on a microfinance project in Latin America or Africa through this program next summer after my NYC summer analyst program is complete.

Other schools I would assume: JHU and Georgetown
