Economic standing make a difference?

I’m applying to Michigan out of state and will certainly be paying full. That is $120,000 alone compared to $40,000 in-state. Would I possibly have a better chance just due to the fact that I would be paying more? I know the University would clearly say that this wouldn’t be a factor but my parents think it may be.

Thanks for your feedback

and as always

Over instate canidates paying full no (even though the difference is big). Maybe over instate canidates who require substantial aid. I don’t think the ability to pay is a huge factor in admissions.

OOS applicants compete primarily with other OOS applicants, Your ability to pay full tuition will help, but not by as much as you think.

Okay thanks for the responses!
