My first final is Economics 100A. Is anyone else taking this course? (Comfort me…)

Is 2 weeks enough to study? I’m starting to freak out because it’s going to be really, really difficult. Plus I think it’s on 20 chapters or something like that.

Anyway, if you are taking this course, tell me what you are doing to study and how much time you are allotting for each chapter, problem sets, etc. Cheers.

Thats micro right? Try to conserve your study time by going to office hours and asking whats expected fo you. Most gsi’s will point you in the right direction of what to study and focus on. Many gsi’s however are fools so try to find a good one.

CalX. It’s not VERY hard, but with Rausser it’s hard. Cheers for the helpful advice though.

Anyway, it’s just i’m on the borderline because I didn’t do any reading or work at all until 2 days before each midterm (bad idea). Hence I am in the B/A range so I need to pull a straight A to hopefully get an A- in the course. I was just wondering how others were preparing.

Actually let me put it this way. How much time should I allot if I have done absolutely nothing except attend section since the second midterm? Aka, I haven’t read, I haven’t gone to lecture, and I haven’t thought.

Well, if you started cramming before the midterms two days ahead, that’s not so bad.

Maybe some people have a hard time with micro because of the quantitative underpinning. I thought that macro was harder, it’s a bit fuzzier, whereas in micro the boundaries are much narrower and the models more straightforward, if somewhat very mathematical.

I would say start with reading carefully the lecture notes, then reviewing all the homeworks and midterm/final exams you can lay your hands on, subject by subject, and fill in the gaps with the textbook reading.

2 weeks is plenty of time, don’t sweat it, get on it.
