So, like many of my peers at this overcrowded institution, I am not getting into my last prerequisite class I need to declare Economics as my major. I currently have this dead semester where I only have one last breadth course to complete and lots of empty space. I’ve been told that maybe I should just take the semester off. However, looking at my courses, I can declare a Sociology major or a Legal Studies major next semester, and start taking those classes while I wait for next year to take my last prerequisite for Econ.
My question is, is it even something worth doing? My current career goals are geared towards consulting. Would either of these majors in combination with Economics provide any benefit? I am interested in sociology and law on a intellectual level, but not necessarily on a career based level. Thoughts?
