Economics class in berkeley

Hi,
I have 2 questions about admissions and berkeley ?please,
Q1:How many students are in an economics class?
Q2:What band score in IELTS and the score required in SAT?

Best Wishes

Q1: Do you mean in an actual economics ‘classroom’ or how many students have signed up for the Economics major? If it’s an econ class, I’m not sure I can answer; there are a lot of Econ classes, lower and upper division. About the econ major, I’m trying to google some kind of L&S distribution of majors, but can’t seem to find any. The Econ major, by the way, is in the College of Letters and Science (apparently the easiest college to get into, lol) but the major is capped, which means you have to have a minimum GPA (3.0, I think?) to be considered into the major.

Q2: About the SAT scores required to get into Econ; I don’t think they look at your high school SAT scores once you get into Berkeley. You just have to make sure you get into the L&S College (as undeclared). This gives some facts about incoming classes, including SAT scores:
By the numbers - University of California, Berkeley;

and that minimum GPA is your Berkeley GPA from college classes here, not your HS GPA.

SAT scores are part of admissions to L&S, but they don’t differentiate by intended major, since very incoming freshmen is considered undeclared until you take pre-req classes and sign up for your major. Therefore, they look at SAT scores as one of the factors, the higher the better for your odds of admission, but we had a person with a 2400 report rejection a year or two ago, thus no single factor is a guarantee.
