I took AP Economics early as a junior this year to challenge myself. Unfortunately, I did not do as well as I had hoped. The curriculum itself was interesting to me, but the way the teacher taught the course made it difficult for me to get a good grade, and I ended the course with a 91 final average. I know that Harvard expects applicants to have top grades, so if I applied to Harvard with Economics as my major, would this lower grade in my high school class hurt my chances?

Harvard does not accept people by majors, they only accept students into Harvard College, without any particular major (called concentration).

A 91 average is not terrible, in most American schools it is an A- which a fine score for an AP.
