Economics Major at Scripps & CMC

Is it possible to major in economics at CMC as a Scripps student? Does CMC make it difficult for students from the other colleges to take economics classes or major at their college?

If Scripps does not offer a major in econ then you can easily major at the 5 C school where it is offered. That is the beauty of how the 5C's are set up. My D's major is at Pomona.

Scripps does offer Econ, so you would not be able to major at CMC. However, you would be able to take classes at CMC (particularly since they have a whole range of classes in business which Scripps does not offer). CMC sometimes makes it difficult to register for classes, but that usually means they set a quota for of-campus students, or you just have to get instructor permission (which is easy as pie).

If you're trying to decide between the two schools, I'd suggest visiting both and setting up appts to meet with a member of the Econ faculty at both to get a feel for the nuances between the two programs.

Any Scripps economics majors on CollConf who went on to do the Accelerated B.A./M.A. Degree Program offered through Claremont Graduate University (CGU) and the School of Politics and Economics (SPE)?
