economics major-do i or not???

i was going to apply for economics major at UC but i recently got my sat 2’s and they are - lit- 670
maths 2c-660
which is really bad:(
i am regiving sat 1 in december so no chance for regiving subject tests either.

what i want to know is- will it be better to apply undeclared , ecause my bad maths marks will have a bad effect as economics requires maths ::(:((:(((
what do i do???

ps- i am an american citizen but studying in india and those were the only 2 subjects my curriculum allowed me to give.

they aren’t terrible you could still possibly get in

You don’t really apply for a major anyway iun the College of Letters & Science, you only declare a major after you are a student and meet the prerequisites, in your sophomore or junior year. So I doubt if it would matter on your application. The math requirement at Berkeley isn’t very rigorous for the economics major, actually, so a 660 would be good enough.

^ thank you!!

MY SAT 2’s:

Math 2C: 540
US History: 570
Lit: 650

Current Status:

UC Berkeley Sophomore
Major: Economics

Needless to say, I think you’ll be fine.

were you a california resident?

L&S does not admit by major. Every freshman is undeclared.
