Economics major with Biochemistry minor. Is this a weird combo??

Will employers look down on this combo? I’m interesed in finance/banking jobs. I wanted to minor in math but I find math boring tbh. So, is biochem good or bad with econ?

It’s not bad, but it is an odd choice. It would give you an edge working for businesses that do financial work with chemical or medical companies, but I don’t know about banks.

I don’t think a double major ever hurts, but it also doesn’t usually help. If it won’t require extra time/cost and you want to do both, do both. I doubt the biochem major will help come hiring time unless, like @Mynaaa said, you’ll be in a position where knowledge of biochemistry would be beneficial.

They’ll think you want to be in pharmacy industry most likely, so no, especially if you keep it your minor.

Uh…employers in banking/finance are not going to “think” anything in particular about your minor. If it isn’t related to your career, they simply won’t care about it. If you want to minor in biochemistry because you are interested in it, then go ahead - it probably won’t affect your career in banking/finance one way or the other.
