Economics? or Business?

Is Economics better than Business to major in to get in to the top IBs and Consulting firms? Or is it other way

You can major in whatever you want and get a job in these field’s. It depends much more so on what school you attend rather than your major unless let’s say you go to U Penn. In that case it would obviously be better to go to Wharton and Major in business, than economics at the college of art & sciences. If the school you are looking into don’t have undergrad business school’s then don’t feel bad because HYP doesn’t have a business school and they are among some of the most recruited school’s because of the quality of the school.

what about a major in architecture with a minor in business? isn’t it competitive to get a job at goldman sachs or mckinsey? don’t they want to see at least some experience in finance or economics?

So if you know you want to get into Consulting and IBanking, why would you choose architecture?
