<p>I’m a junior in high school and last year, I had to choose how I was going to go about the next two years of my high school career. I basically had everything planned out aside from the elective. Now, my school offers a few electives, but since I go to an IB school, I must take at least one IB elective, leaving me the option of Film, Art (both two year courses), or Economics (a one year course). Art was, and still is, out of the question as my artistic ability is beyond sub-par, but I’m not awful at the art of film making and I actually quite enjoy it. So without really thinking too much into it, I chose to take film. Now, school started a few days ago and I’m beginning to rethink my decision. I never really thought about how enjoyable economics could be until now, since I’m quite interested in history and politics, and economics is sort of both. Also, I don’t plan on going into film in the future, so I figured I’d take film in high school (seeing as though it’s a free course and I won’t have that chance in college without wasting time and money) and then take economics in college, since I’ll probably have to take it again anyways. There’s also a huge analytical part to film that I dislike, as I really just want to sit down and enjoy a movie as opposed to analyzing minute details that I don’t feel are necessary to look at. </p>
<p>So basically, I’m super undecided and I have to make a decision, at the latest, by tomorrow. I come here for a third party point of view, as asking people you know makes things more difficult. </p>
