<p>For ECs, is it a common ‘rule’ to have at least one ‘long-term’ volunteering place?
Right now, my ECs look like </p>
<p>Field Hockey team ~ 11
Debate club VP~ 11
Health club VP~ 11
Campus Magazine Club Columnist ~ 11
Children festival key volunteer ~ 11
Operation Tomodachi fundraising for Japan ~11
Boys and Girls Club Volunteer ~11
OPA (Shanghai Expo 3D Filming) Volunteer ~ 10
Student Council President ~9</p>
<p>*I’m in grade 11</p>
<p>As you can see, none of them are long-term.
Will this be a blow on my chances of getting into a school like NYU?
Or any highly competitive schools in general</p>
