I currently am the ceo and founder of my own business in which I’ve developed software and hardware. This is something I’m very passionate and want to do more with it. Does anyone know about any business competitions or events I could enter to win some stuff and develop a spike?
Have you talked to the chairperson of the business department at your high school? Our high school district has a local version of “Shark Tank”. Not only would winning something like that look good for applications, but the winners get money (up to tens of thousands of dollars) to expand their businesses.
There is an organization called YEA, Young Entrepreneurs Academy. They have chapters all throughout the country. My S participated and at the end of the year he won top business in his chapter and became a semi-national finalist. They payed for him to travel and compete in New York. Great experience.
Not an AO, but wouldn’t running a successful business be its own best reward? If your business is real and doing well, seems like you wouldn’t need an award to validate that.
