We are in Wake and no letter Friday. Son also got deferred from NCSU so I was hoping for good news, not that he wanted to go to State, but he wanted to get in.

@MBNC1755 the honors college letter comes with the scholarship amount in it.
I called the Honors College yesterday and was told that the decisions would not show in the Pirate Portal or Navigator, which I thought was unusual. Nothing in our mailbox again today. ?
Daughter’s letter arrived today but I won’t know what it says until she arrives back home tomorrow. She got into Chapel Hill yesterday. I honestly don’t know if she would prefer ECU Honors College which would give her the smaller community/environment she craves or being a general student at UNC. I guess we’ll see what the letter says tomorrow!
By some miracle D20’s letter arrived today (our mail is never on time and we are much further from ECU than many). She also got into Chapel Hill yesterday. Currently she is flying home from an interview at another school that she also loves to death. Few more hours and then I will know what it says… Hopefully good news. She loved Honors College when we visited.

@twinmommy Will do! I’m assuming it’s good news because of the fancy writing and what looks like a sticker or magnet visible through the back. It would be especially harsh to send a fancy looking letter for a ‘no, sorry’ but you never know…
@MBNC1755 yes that’s good news. The letter has an honors college sticker enclosed and the envelope does have fancy writing on it.
I’m worried that my son didn’t get accepted since his letter has not come yet. Several others, who live only around thirty minutes away from us, have received their acceptances. I’m afraid the batch of acceptances were mailed first and the rejections next. Still here over analyzing…?
@millong Maybe he is going to be invited to scholars? I haven’t heard anyone who has gotten asked to Selection Sunday yet. Keeping my fingers crossed for him!
@MBNC1755 what did your daughter love about the honors college when you all visited? I would appreciate any details you have.
My daughter also got her UNC acceptance yesterday… was a semi-finalist for the Morehead but did not progress to finalist. She loves UNC but would definitely want to be part of an honors college if she goes to a bigger school to make it smaller. She got the letter today from ECU and we are thrilled that she is a Chancellor’s Fellow and EC Scholars Finalist and are now scrambling to find out more about the program. This has been an anguishing year of watching her wait for results after so many applications! I can’t wait for all of our kids to be settled/ happy with their final decisions.
@Voiceonthecoast That is awesome! My D20 just really loved the vibe from the fellow students and how collaborative the students seemed. She is drawn to those who help to lift each other up. She is very into community building.
That being said ECU is a large school and I would really look into class size if that is something your daughter cares about. Still being selected is for Selection Sunday is such an honor! Congrats to your daughter!
So I just picked up my daughter She finally opened her letter and she is a Chancellor’s Fellow and EC Scholars finalist! She is so excited and just really blown away by the opportunity to attend Selection Sunday. Wishing everyone good luck! ?

@anonymousmo I am so sorry but my D20 requested I keep all her stats private. It is her hard work and journey. Not mine. So I will respect her wishes.
I fully suggest if looking to apply to Honors College at ECU to attend the information session. It was very enlightening!

I’m a little confused about the ec scholar and Sunday selection. Would we have found out about it with our honors college information or is it sent out separately? I already received my honors college acceptance.
@aksingh I can only speak for what D20 received, but she was sent a single trifold. The front had ‘Welcome to ECU Honors College Family’. When opened on the center was ‘Congrats and her Chancellor’s Fellow and EC Scholars Finalist’ printed. The right had ‘You’re Invited’ and contained information about Selection Sunday. I hope this helps!
D20 got home today. She also found out she is a Chancellor’s Fellow and EC Scholars Finalist!! So excited for her and the opportunities that she has!!!
