Other Statements:
Both my parents graduated from NYU and I have tuition remission since my dad worked there for over 25 years.

I know my test scores aren’t great. Not good at all…but I’m hoping the other things will make it weigh less in the decision.

holy cow, another tuition remission student! i’m in the same boat as you. i was actually rejected ED and then transfered to NYU and now i’m here. it’s pretty sweet. NYU tuition remission even paid for my study abroad. as far as i know, they don’t take that into account when you apply. they DO make you check off a box on the app saying that you would get tuition remission if accepted.

anyway, yeah, your standardized test scores are low. HOWEVER, if you can take three SAT IIs, look at the new standardized test score policy. three SAT IIs can take the place of the regular SAT.

not only that, you’re also a legacy and a URM. if you nail the Gallatin essay and write a really persuasive essay, you have a fighting chance. but these newfangled new SAT scores confuse me. . . what’s your score on the old-school M/CR scale?

If you mean what are the individual scores for Math and CR I got a 590 for math and 530 for critical reading. Really not good. I’m taking two subject tests in a week and I’m hoping to do really well on that. I just don’t do well on these standardized tests. It’s what’s scaring me.

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, why do you think you got denied for Early decision? I’m curious.

transferring is a good backup. SAT scores are not really used since it’s mostly use to measure college preparation. if i am the admission officer, one SAT score isnt going to make me reject someone. your grades are high.

I hope you’re right! Thanks for your help : )

FYI: It’s hispanic, not hespanic.

spelling error. Thanks : )
