Deferred

Accepted!
1510 superscore (710 ERW, 800 M)
800 on SAT II Math 2, physics, chem, Chinese, 760 World History
4.55 W, 3.83 UW
Full ib diploma candidate
Music portfolio submitted
demonstrated interest: NOTHING at all, never went to info session/ campus or even emailed rep (which I was kinda surprised if my acceptance) Essays are good, demonstrate that o know a great deal about the school itself.

Congratulations to all accepted! Great school.

Daughter got rejected - she’s pretty bummed she wasn’t even deferred

3.75UW, 4.3 WGPA (12+ APs), Applied Test-Optional (since CC doesn’t superscore ACT and her highest single sitting composite was only a 29). Her grades aren’t perfect, but she’s had a strong upward trend with a 3.9 UW, 4.5+W Junior Year while taking 5 APs

She showed tons of interest (visited, talking to a coach, applied for El Pomar); She’s a three-sport Varsity Athlete/MVP for two of the teams, tons of leadership (Student Body Pres, Class Pres), significant work experience, 2 choirs, other strong ECs (including two pretty big national programs). She’s also a Boettcher Semifinalist (Competitive Statewide Scholarship program that gives full tuition to 42 students at any school in Colorado) and a Coca Cola Semifinalist.

Bummer…

@oldcmcalum CC does superscore

Actually, according to their website and her admission counselor, they only superscore the SAT and take the best ACT composite:

“We will review the best super-scored SAT or best ACT Composite if the applicant has opted into test score consideration”

Either way, it seems like it was super competitive this year, so congrats to all who were admitted (or deferred). It’s a great school.

Rejected - 4.0, 33 ACT - didn’t visit or interview. school has no APs so none taken. Not surprised given showed little interest. Congrats to those who got in!!

@oldcmcalum weird. they superscored my act

accepted & I’m so excited!!!
10 APs, 32 ACT, 4.285 WGPA
I toured but no interview. I think my essays got me in – my Common App one was really good and my supplementals showed my knowledge about CC & the Springs.

I still haven’t received anything  I applied Early Action and I’m still waiting for my status update

Accepted w/ Leadership Scholarship!! Definitely wasn’t expecting this, but I’m so happy!
35 ACT
780 on Bio M and Literature
3.94 UW GPA, my school does not weight GPA
I didn’t get the chance to visit campus, but I did interview. I think my supplements were strong, since I clearly communicated my passion for the outdoors and did some significant research for the “design your own class” essay.

Accepted w/ Leadership Scholarship, but for Winter Entry! Does anyone know why they would admit me for Winter entrance?
36 ACT
800 Math 2/780 Bio E/720 Literature
4.0/4.6 GPA (14 AP)
Various ECs, most notably first chair All-State Band Bassoon, and leading the organizing committee for a local research summit for youth.
From CO (which I think helps this year because they are trying to raise in-state enrollment), so I visited twice and had my best interviews of any school. Could talk about a deep personal connection in my essays and illustrated my passion (I think) in my design a course essay.

Rejected
ACT 31. SAT 1410. GPA 4.58.
Demonstrated lots of interest, it was his first choice. Extremely disappointed

My son was deferred and he is bummed. 4.41 WGPA, 4.0 UWGPA, 35 ACT, many AP exams. Good EC, varsity sports, club leadership, volunteer activity. NSLI-Y study abroad in Indonesia last year with the state department. Visited and an Interview.

Got in ED last week from Chattanooga, TN

Accepted!
31 ACT, 3.98 unweighted (my schools doesn’t do weighted), 11 AP/IBs, Varsity sports, NHS…
I think my supplementals were what got me in, especially my designed block course… I spent a lot of time working on it to make sure it related to my intended major and I also made sure to try to relate it to my extra curriculars to demonstrate my continued interest. Congrats to everyone who got it!!

I got in early action with the leadership scholarship.

35 ACT
4.00 UW, 4.46 W, second in my class
7 APs (I’m at a rural high school that doesn’t have many), took college level multivariable calculus my junior year
No athletics
Member of almost every honor society at my school (NHS, NEHS, NSHS, ITS, etc.)
Leadership positions in most clubs I’m in
150+ service hours

The only interest I showed was attending a local college fair and talking to the representative there. I wrote my essays for the school the afternoon the application was due (including my main Common App essay).

This was the first decision I have received back, and I was very nervous to see if I got in. It was a pretty last minute decision to apply, and I probably will not be attending, simply because I like other schools better. I was shocked that I received the leadership scholarship, as I had never heard of it and didn’t think I was that above average when applying to the school. Congrats to everyone who got in!

D Denied and devastated.
SAT 1560
UW GPA 3.59 at very rigorous high school
Visited school plus follow up at career fairs, sister at school in Colorado and very good essays and recommendations.
EC Theatre - lead actress + solo singer, 13 productions, writer of plays, poetry and music. Lots of other EC, leadership roles etc.
Congratulations to those that got in and good-luck to everyone.

denied and also devastated
