ED STUDENTS: Should we already have our schedules for the upcoming year?

Like the question says.

If you are talking about your class schedule, you put that together when you get to NU in the fall. You will meet with your advisor at that point.

No, you shouldn’t, like momof3sons said. However, that isn’t to say you can’t start getting an idea of what your schedule could look like. Your specific school’s website (WCAS, McCormick, SESP, etc.) usually has plenty of information on requirements and often specifically first quarter of Freshmen year should look like.

At any rate, below you can find a link to a schedule planner which I made from scratch for myself. It includes my goals of an MMSS BA, Econ BA, Kellogg FE Certificate, and the possibility of an Econ MA. It also sort of includes distributions and doesn’t include foreign languages at all, but that wasn’t my focus. I’m in Weinberg and it varies by school, but this should give you an idea of what schedules/four year plans can look like. Keep in mind that this is on the ambitious side. Four classes a quarter is typical, and you can see I don’t fill up four a quarter for every quarter. That leaves me with lots of room for electives.

Typically for Weinberg: Chemistry, Math, Foreign language/distro, seminar
