Edible "Thank you" Gift Suggestions?

College senior D is looking for a simple thank you gift for a friend. She wants something sweet, but not fruit. Bonus if it actually says “thank-you” on it somewhere. but not necessary.

All of the online retailers I have looked at have horrible reviews, so I’m out of ideas.

Price range is about $50 (including shipping).

Any ideas?

Just got a gift of some cookies from Kelley’s Cookies, the coconut & macadamia dipped chocolate disappeared in a few hours, really good.

This company, Fairytale Brownies, is based here in Arizona but they ship nationally. I’ve been to their headquarters to shop directly in the past and it was very nice. Their reviews are good and I have used them for Thank You gifts in the past - lots of options and price points. You can get the packaging that says “Thank You”.

I don’t see anything with thank you on it but their brownies are good! https://loraliesbrownies.com/minis.html

Great products. They’ll handwrite a thank you card for you if you ask.

Many of the chocolate shops have bars with Thank You on them. Many realtors give them as gifts to their buyers/sellers.

Fran’s chocolates are fabulous. President Obama used to give the caramels to White House visitors. You can personalize your message. Several options in the $50 range, including shipping.

Flavor is more important than a message. We received a gift with a “thank you” chocolate piece included (from a place we donated money to- we gave money and don’t want part of it returned via a gift, sigh). Never was that fond of that local chocolate company, gave them away.

A gift is a splurge item the recipient likely would not buy for themselves but would enjoy. Things like Godiva or other top brand chocolates. A sweet/savory gift could be from a quality brand regional cheese/sausage/jams/nuts… assortment, especially if there are any from your home area. Over the years I have enjoyed food gifts that were things I never would spend my money on- such as high end foods.

We have had so-so luck with any fresh fruits sent to us. Niece sent an Edible Arrangements gift to my father one year. But- the size has to be small enough to be able to be consumed while fresh. Among neighbors we have given cut fruits from the local grocery store as a thank you but those are much cheaper. Must have been a huge service to merit a $50 gift.

I order from Dancin’Deer. Often. They have cookies and brownies. Lots of specials when you get on the Mail no list. They are based outside of Boston.

I like the suggestions

Others have mentioned them and I know I’m a fan. www.cherryrepublic.com. The boom chucka cookies are really good.

I sent this to a family member, it’s delicious https://www.davessweettooth.com

A few times when she was in college I sent my daughter - Wicked Whoopies - and she and her friends enjoyed them

Dark chocolate from your local chocolatier and Alex and Ani has cute thank you bracelets. How about a combo gift

Corso’s cookies make cute designs and yummy shortbread cookies. And they are having a sale. http://www.corsoscookies.com/

Jeni’s Ice Cream, slightly more than $50 but amazingly delicious and unique: https://shop.jenis.com/collections/

Cheryl’s Cookies - thank you collections (look for coupons/coupon codes, they always have them!) https://www.cheryls.com/thank-you-cookie-gifts?loc=LeftNav

A gift card from a local shop is always good–cupcake or ice cream shop.

IMHO store bought high end chocolates or a home made gift basket, wrapped nicely and given with a handwritten note is another option and definitely more personal than something bought online.

Thnk you so much, everyone!

All of these sound great, and I will pass on all the ideas to D.

On a side note, I’m suddenly craving chocolate

Nothingbundtcakes.com has AMAZING cakes, really cute decorating options for various occasions and is very reliable. I highly recommend. Check out their website.

Oh yes, I’ve ordered the bunds cakes before.

Cheryl’s Cookies are really good, I send them often when I need to mail gifts.

I know you said no fruit, but I assume you’re talking about something like Harry & David box of pears.

What about chocolate dipped fresh strawberries? They are available from plenty of chocolatiers, local and national. There’s probably a Godiva store near the friend’s location that can deliver them freshly made.
