Hey everyone! Just thought that because us EDII-ers hear so soon, we should have a thread to chat about ED stuff, and to post decisions on when we hear. Post away!

Do you think we might find out before then if we live close by? I know some schools wait till the 15th to mail out letters, and others mail them out so that you’ll get them around the 15th, and I don’t know which one Pomona is…

D received her ED1 letter on 12/13 (Monday). Another accepted student in CA received hers on either Friday or Saturday.

Good luck!

Wow! So I could possibly hear today! I can’t wait for the mail to come, but at the same time, i’m dreading it!

Yeah kgordon. I got my letter on the saturday before. I say you should start heading out to the mailbox starting today. :)

Good luck!

I’m pretty much resigned that I’m not going to get in since my grades and SATs are both below average for Pomona. Nevertheless, I’ll be curious to see what happens (I didn’t get my letter today- it’ll probably come on Monday).

I dunno leftyleftist - we have pretty similar stats and I think we have a chance! Think positive thoughts! I also didn’t hear today, and since tomorrow is Sunday, I’ll probably hear early next week. Good luck everyone :)

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us!

:) The decision came :)

:( Rejected :(

Oh no! Im sorry! how did you find out? do you live in california? Our stats are sooooo similar - I hope im not rejected :

Yes, I live in Southern California, about an hour away. I came home from JSA Congress on Sunday and saw a regular envelope from Pomona College waiting on the table. There were many things that could have contributed to my rejection, including my class rank of around the 75th percentile (Though with my last semester grades I was bumped into the top 20 percent). Also my not being able to schedule an interview (they were fully booked) wasn’t a good thing. But I tried to make up for it by sending the math (a theorem I came up with and proved in tenth grade) and art (photos of some of my original origami models) supplements.

Good luck to you, KGordon. Hope you get in, and you do have a much better chance than me.

Rejected. Oh well… Life goes on

well, looks like no one is getting in EDII…I didn’t get in either :(

I’m sorry for all of us.

None of the ED II’ers got in! That totally sucks. I’m sorry, you guys.

PS- kgordon is my twin.

Good luck with all of your other applications! Pomona totally missed out on you guys. :(

kgordon, leftyleftist, and jaredthegreat–I am so sorry that you didn’t get accepted ED2. You all had strong stats which makes it all the harder; however, with those stats, I am sure that you’ll get into some very competitive schools and have great success. Good luck, and let us know where you end up going!

I echo Little Mother, the smaller schools are more difficult even with stellar stats as they seem to be looking to fill a certain nitch. You guys are awesome and will have some great choices to make come April.
