<p>Hey, are there any statistics on transfer admissions by the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service? Does anyone know what the GPA’s are of the mid 50th percentile of accepted students? The mid 50th percentile of the SAT scores of accepted students? I know that Georgetown tells you over the phone, if they have room for transfers for certain majors, but what is the overall acceptance rate for EWSFS or more specifically an international political economy major?</p>

Math SAT: 760
Critical Reading SAT: 530

Applying as: Junior Level Transfer, International Political Economics Major
ECs: President and Vice President of Debate Team, Volunteer judge for NYUDL high school debate tournaments, volunteer coach for high school debaters, Big Brothers Big Sisters, school newspaper on international affairs.
Grade Trend: 3.7 (Summer 2005) => 3.812 (Fall 2005) => 3.405 (Spring 2006) => 3.891 (Fall 2006)
My GPA dipped down to a 3.405 in the Spring of 2006 because I recieved a “C” in Integral Calculus. </p>

<p>I know that a strong mathematical background is crucial for economics majors so I will include the list of the grades in received in math. </p>

<p>Applied Mathematics and Matrices: A
Integral Calculus: C
Analytical Geometry and Calculus II: A-
Algorithms and Computer Programming: W <= listed as a mathematics course. </p>

<p>In the Spring of 2007, I will be taking Introduction to Probability (Advanced Level Class,) Econometrics (Advanced,) Intermediate Micro-Economics (Intermediate,) Political Economy (Intermediate,) and Logic and Moral Reasoning (Basic.) </p>

<p>All my other courses are As or A-s, and I have 2 B+s. </p>

<p>I would like to know your opinions are on my chances of admission. What my strong points are, my weak points, etc. </p>

<p>Bump. Hey I’d really appreciate some feedback. If not Georgetown, then please recommend some institutions that may fit my interests.</p>

<p>Safety: 1. University of Maryland - College Park
2. George Washington University</p>

<p>Target: 1. University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
2. UC - Los Angeles
3. UC - Berkeley</p>

<p>Reach: 1. Cornell University</p>

<p>UC Berkeley is definitely not a target for you. And UCLA will be pushing that word to new limits. As public schools of California both give strong preference to Cali Community College students first, followed by state residents. You’d need a solid 3.9+ to really consider those targets.</p>

<p>SFS is very tough and if you just want to go to G-Town really badly, it’d be wise to not apply to their most selective college with those stats. Also, your math score is very strong, but the CR is super-low for G-Town (especially SFS) and will probably be a big red flag.</p>

<p>I can’t really think of any schools to recommend for IPE since I don’t really know who’s good and whatnot for that major.</p>
