Hello,
My major is Interdisciplinary studies…i plan on becoming an kindergarten teacher. As you know, at all schools, there are basics you have to take. I also want to minor in Fashion Merchandising. My question is would I have to take the core curriculum for both or could they satisfy each other? Also, how do you declare a minor? Would I have to take all the classes that a Fashion Merchandising major would take?

Talk to your advisor or look on your school’s website…every school is different, people here who don’t know your school aren’t going to know how to declare a minor or what classes you would have to take. At my school to take declare a minor you fill out a form and bring it to an office…in other schools you may do it online. I don’t know about yours.

a minor is fewer classes than a major.

how you do different things and the requirements will vary by school.
