What does that mean? D2 was asked to apply for some merit aid and she needed to submit " a statement of your educational intent". Just struck me funny! Wonder what people say to make it different than the usual I want to study this area and save the world, blah blah blah? ;)

How about to finish college and get a job? <— good start from my point of view…

Sounds like the merit aid version of the statement of purpose that graduate school applicants have to write.

Being lazy and grabbing some quotes from statementofpurpose.com…

“As the name signifies, the Statement of Purpose is your personal statement about who you are, what has influenced your career path so far, your professional interests and where you plan to go from here.”

“The SoP is your chance to talk directly to the admissions committee. To make yourself stand out from among a multitude of similarly qualified candidates. To convince the committee that you have the spark, the thirst for knowledge that could add value to your class.”

She already finished hers and listed what she wants to major in and why and where she wants to go in life (Ha! At 17 I’m sure things will change!) but I just thought everyone’s would be so similar. Just a funny kind of assessment! Oh and it can only be one or two paragraphs.
