why would EE biomed be the longest… most engineering majors has around the same number of graduating units (between 186 to 190) it just depends on what classes you take, looking at hsseas announcement, EE biomed is 188 units when finished with all course, while Civil is between 188, 189, 190 depending on which electives you take, so EE biomed is not the longest, it just seems long because you have to cover chem 30 series and LS 1-3 but you do skip some courses traditional EE take like cs 32 and 33 and course like that…

how many units for CSE?

^ i am shocked!

CSE is 188 units

Just a word of advice from someone who’s on this track and will finish this year.
It’s definately not the longest major but it can be a drag with all the lower-div chem classes.

Personally, I didn’t find it worth it. You don’t really take any biomed classes, just a lot of lower division chem/LS courses. You also miss out on some of the really good EE courses. So, beware and consider this option very very carefully.

many of the people i know that are doing the biomed EE option are only doing it to avoid CS 32

Most students I know who are in the biomed option choose it to avoid the CS courses. Only a few of them are actually “pre-med” or are interested in biotech.
