EE Interview- selected pool?

Hi gals :),

I requested a Wellesley interview in Dec, but they told me that their interviews were no longer available. it was also said in the email that they'd select a pool of students after they have reviewed our materials.

Yesterday, i received a Wellesley email again- extending me the opportunity to interview.

I'm def excited about this, and I want to ask preferably already-Wellesley-women: what does this actually mean? "Selected" means interviews need to be used as a tie breaker, or that my chances of getting in have been boosted up?

Thank you so much. Good luck to everyone, and I hope I can see all of you this fall at WELLESLEY!!

I have the same question

Thank you Rosy! Finally someone replying to the post... Anyone w/ the same question or knows sth about this?

I think the reason nobody has responded is that nobody knows. Seems like it can't be bad and it might be good. Think positive thoughts.

Kay, thx! Though if anyone knows, i'd appreciate much of ur help~

I'm a Wellesley student, and though I don't know the direct answer (I interviewed before the deadline,) I know that it is because they want to know you better, which is never a bad thing. I wouldn't put any more pressure on yourself, if you do that, you may not be able to present your best self because of nerves. If you feel comfortable enough, you may even ask why you were "allowed the privilege to learn more about Wellesley personally from an alum (or directly from the admissions).)"
I know this is a rough time, but if you can, let yourself breathe! Wellesley is great, but it's not heaven.

Thank you so much. In fact, i just had my interview yesterday, and it went pretty well. We talked for an hour, and it felt pretty casual. She asked me a few questions i didnt expected, and some random quetions on book and movies, but the whole atmosphere was comfortable enough. Shame I didnt see ur post earlier @clairede! I do hope I get admitted to Wellesley. Even though from what i heard the EE acceptance rate is high, it's certainly harder for international students like me. I cant wait to find out my wellesley ee decision.
