which one is easier? i was leaning towards signing up for EE1 because it only has 2 1 and half lectures plus a discussion compare to physics 1c’s 4 days a week plus discussion

since when did anyone have a choice…?

anyway, since i don’t know what major you are:

yeah I ran into that with the enrollment problem, im civil engineering so they don’t let me sign up, but on the HSSEAS announcement civil engineers also have a choice between EE1 and physics 1c… my neighbor who is also a civil engineer took EE1 last year instead of physics 1c and if you look at EE1’s restrictions for last quarter and winter quarter it said all undergrad engineering majors… ***?

This question has been answered many times. In terms of the material, Physics 1C has simplified concepts in the text. Only surface knowledge is covered, and a new topic is introduced (especially magnetism, optics, relativity).

The materials covered are different. I only have an idea of what EE 1 has to offer; an EE student can tell you more in detail about what you learn in the course.

could be just fall quarter restrictions. CS31 is restricted to CS(&E) and EE for fall quarter, for example.

aww man really? I was playing on taking cs31 too… ahhhhh i hate enrollment

anyone else know which one is easier?

little late to decide now, ee1 has been full since tuesday

but if given a choice, i’d probably take ee1, even though i have no idea which is technically harder or not

after taking ee1, i’m going to go out on a limb and say that ee1 is harder.

i haven’t taken physics1c or heard anything about it, but i’d say that ee1 is one of the hardest ee courses i’ve taken so far. or maybe joshi just sucked.

oh I c, well during my first pass EE1 was open but it wouldn’t let me sign up because im an civil engineering major, but my counselor told me it is possible to take it since it is listed on the HSSEAS announcement that CEE majors take it this fall…

the counselor said you were guaranteed a spot because it was on the announcement? cause it was on my announcement this fall also for CSE

like MadeInChina said, I would guess ee1 is harder, or at least don’t take it with joshi.

I only know a few people who did physics 1c, but I got the feeling that 1c wasn’t too bad.

no i am not guranteed a spot but he did tell me to take EE1 and now my schedule is majorly screwed up big big big time
