EECE: RHIT vs. UT vs. others

RHIT vs. UT vs. any good eece programs you feel like suggesting (Cal Poly, UIUC, Northwestern?)

I’m interested in going for an EE or a CpE B.S., and afaik, UT and RHIT are both great engineering schools. UT would be much cheaper for me since it’s in-state, but it’s also a huge school, and I would like to escape the Texan heat… whereas RHIT seems like it’s literally in the middle of nowhere. What other advantages/disadvantages do the schools have compared to each other?

I’ve also considered Cal Poly, UIUC, and Northwestern. The first two also have good engineering programs (afaik) but how does Northwestern’s program compare to the aforementioned schools? I’ve considered it because it’s a good school in general and the location is nice (not really the best reasons). What are advantages/disadvantages to each school?

(I’m staying away from CMU, MIT, CalTech, Stanford, Berkeley, and GaTech since I don’t think I would be able to get in - if there are other schools to consider, please tell me about them!)

I would prefer:
~smaller classes: a lower student/faculty ratio
~suburban areas: not in middle of nowhere, not in the middle of NYC
~lower costs: more financial aid, lower tuition costs
~lower climate: seattle, calif., I’d rather have colder winters than summers where you can cook outside on a stone (but I don’t want to be freezing the entire year)

A really good bonus: there’s a Chipotle restaurant nearby =P

The above list would be some nice things, but not necessarily needed. The education itself is most important.

More questions:
Does the undergraduate school even matter if you plan to go on to a graduate school?

Also, is it possible to get a B.S. in EE then get a MS in CpE, or vice versa? Would that be difficult?

Another question: How hard is it to get into each of the above schools?

If you can answer any of my questions, provide more information on one of the schools listed above, or can recommend a school, please post here.
