Hello,

I am about to submit my applciation to mit through the eecs application…however I have noticed gre tests are not conisdered, and there is no chance to submit an essay.

If applicants are only considered on their gpa and subjects taken, I don’t think I have a good chance of getting in. It is possible to mention work experience and extra curricular activities, but they do not provide a lot of space to do so, as though they are not of prime importance.

Also, is it possible to change my mailing address after submitting the application?

MIT’s EECS grad program is extremely selective, unfortunately. Work experience is of some importance for graduate admissions, if it’s relevant; extracurriculars are not important at all. There is a space on the application for a statement of purpose, which is the standard essay required of applicants to graduate school.

If you change your mailing address after application, you can usually send a note to the department’s administrative assistant, or give the administrative assistant a call and ask for a note to be added to your file. Most programs to which I applied last year notified by email or by phone anyway.

damn hey…

so with an average gpa ive almost no chance…

considering gre and EC’s are useless practically?

what is some good guidelines for the statement of objectives?

i dont have a research project picked out, but i have strong research areas im interested in…
