EEL 3135: signals/systems

This class
EEL 3135 Introduction to Signals and Systems
Credits: 3; Prereq: CGS 2425, CIS 3020 and MAC 2313; Coreq: MAP 2302, and one of EEL 3105, MAS 3114 or MAS 4105.

Continuous-time and discrete-time signal analysis including Fourier series and transforms; sampling; continuous-time and discrete-time linear system analysis with FIR and IIR systems; impulse response, frequency response and system function.

has listed 2 programming classes as pre-req.

anyone here taken this class @ uf? is the programming PREREQ. portion really used? (is it worth asking for an override into this course, or is the programming course actually necessary for me to do well?

If you understand complex numbers and how to integrate you should be fine. I took the class 4 years ago now though so it may be slightly different than it used to (e.g. has some MATLAB component).

I took the class a few semesters ago and we did not have any programming at all. Some matlab examples were used in class, but we were not expected to do anything on our own with matlab. It might be different depending on professors. I had Taylor.

I believe the programming prereqs are for the MATLAB portions of the class. If you have any programming experience you should be fine.
