<p>Your $2090 EFC is the minimum amount you will be expected to pay to your community college. And EFC of $2090 should entitle you to some portion of a Pell grant. Is this EFC from a submitted FAFSA or is this an estimate?</p>
<p>That EFC determines that you are eligible for some PELL money. About $2-3K, is my guess. If the cost of attendence (COA) for Miami Dade is more than that, and that number is one that the college determines, not you, then you are eligible for Stafford loans, mostly with interest subsidized while still in school. The financial aid office can tell you if there are any other funds available to you from the state, college, or fed govt.</p>
