EFC divorce situation

<p>Well my mom and dad divorced almost 10 years ago. My dad and stepmom pull in about 120k but technically I am the legal dependant of my mom who makes under 30k. I live with both switching weekly, so I am wondering if I only report my mom’s finances(current junior so fafsa next year). I hope so lol.</p>

<p>Just plan on the Ivies on requesting tax forms from your dad.</p>

<p>And that ruins my financial aid.</p>

<p>But I’m going to try and appeal, and see how that goes.</p>

<p>For FAFSA you have to report the income of the parent (and their spouse) you live with the most. So if that is your Mom you will have to report the information for both you Mom & Stepdad.</p>

If you did not live with one parent more than the other, give answers about the parent who provided more financial support during the 12 months preceding the date you complete the FAFSA, or during the most recent year that you actually received support from a parent. If this parent has remarried as of the date you fill out the FAFSA, answer the questions on the remaining sections of the FAFSA about that parent and the person he or she married (your stepparent).
