EFC over 10,000- still eligible for student loans?

I’m not sure how this happened because I was out of work for over 4 months last year, but when I went back to work I did receive a pay increase. I’m concerned because my financial aid award package has not been posted on my schools online records account and no one from the financial aid office has any information for me at this time. I checked to make sure the information was filled out correctly on fafsa and it has been nearly 6 weeks since I filed. Is that number going to hurt my chances for further federal loans? Thanks.

I also noticed with the re-vamping of the fafsa website one question was missing… interested in federal loans? only the work/study question remains.

You should still qualify for Federal loans. The question is whether they would be Sub or Unsub loans.

You are always eligible for Stafford Loans if you fill out the FAFSA. As annika stated it may only be unsub loans which start accruing interest immediately. You can contact your FA office to remind them to put it in your FA package.
