What does an EFC score of 006640 mean?
It means your financial need was calculated as the cost of attendance minus $6,640. That doesn’t mean that you’ll only have to pay $6,640, though. It depends on how generous your college is. Very few colleges provide enough financial aid to meet your need 100%.
The FAFSA EFC is used to calculate Pell Grant eligibility. An EFC of $0 qualifies students for a full Pell Grant. Unfortunately, an EFC above $6,000 (which yours, at $6640 is) means you’re ineligible for a Pell Grant.
