Effect of BAD humanities & writing grade on admissiont o graduate physics

hi,

my school requires everybody to take the required humanities and writing & rhetoric classes. I’m a super techie minded person, and do really poorly on humanities and writing. How bad will it turn against me if i get bad grades on those classes?

thanks

A few bad grades won’t hurt at all… but a lot might hurt a LITTLE.
but humanities grades are NOT high on the list of criteria…
the 3 most important factors are (in no particular order): grades in science/math, letters of rec, research experience…

I had mostly B’s in my humanities/social sciences (a few A’s, one C, but mostly B’s)… my science/math classes were all at least B+…
I got into Berkeley, MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Columbia, Chicago in Astro or Physics.
