Does it drive everyone else’s spouse crazy that you spend one hour (more or less) on college confidential a day? By the way, I do not watch T.V. My DH spends an equal amount of time watching sports (although in more concentrated time periods).

Absolutely drives him nuts! Of course, he’s upstairs playing on-line poker :)

Try to keep it limited at home. They don’t understand.

Uh – my problem is the effect CC has on my job.

The biggest loser wrt my time on cc is my reading. My “voracious” reading habit has been too much replaced with my “voracious” cc habit. Not totally eliminated, but substantially crowded out.

If only H knew how much worthwhile information I gain from so many brilliant posters, then he’d understand. But he is just as occupied with sports on any screen.

Same here! This message board is so addictive, and yet at the same time, I’ve picked up so much valuable and helpful information from various threads and posters on this site.

Fiance likes to tease me about my CC addiction. Of course, it’s the pot calling the kettle black – he’s addicted in a strikingly similar way to an R/C airplane forum. :)

ok, i can’t resist–what is an r/c airplane forum? there are many worse things to be addicted to than CC but it is hard to explain. my entire family just shakes their heads. i used to read mystery novels.
friend’s husband and i discovered we were mutually addicited. Seemed like a very amusing secret…Is this some form of cyber infidelity.? He recovered for awhile but relapsed when second kid was in application hell. I still have the excuse of one still in the chute…
Mostly I seem to find an odd comfort in being addicted to a substance with such a demonstrably nice group of people…

only 1 hour?

Remote controlled? (Just guessing…)

Same here jmmom and momonthehill…my reading habit (which also drove DH nuts) has definitely suffered. But with all the great book ideas I’ve received from CCers, I’m about to start up again :)

I have learned sooo much from all the posters here…and I still have much to learn!

My daughter wasnts to know why I still read a college forum when my youngest is a sophomore in college and the oldest in grad school! When I try to explain that I learn more here on the parent’s forum than I could elsewhere, she just gives me a look. My husband on the other hand doesn’t care as he is sitting on the other end of the sofa reading on his laptop! So much for a hot Friday night for us :-)

My whole family thinks I’m nuts, but they appreciate the information I share!

We’re both on CC, which makes it easier. Kids think we are nuts though.

Confirms compulsive streak. H already knew that. Will probably try to let it go a la robrym when all is done and dusted.

CC replaced big phone blabs for me. Still reading.

Oh, sorry. cameliasinensis is right – it’s a forum for discussing remote-controlled airplanes/helicopters/other things that fly. Their flame wars are not nearly as interesting as ours. :D

Hubster comes in each day and asks, “Hey b, what’s new on CC??” lol A good man gracefully accepts and yes, even embraces, that which he knows he cannot change! ;)

~berurah

Berurah, as usual, chimes in with her eloquent words of wisdom!
I’ll pass them on to DH!!

Some have quit for good, but I suspect robrym is not among them. Based on posting style and a far east location, I’d say she is still with us under a new name.
