effects of TD9 on FSU and UF?

I know the schools are well inland but was wondering if they are starting to make any preparations? Do they have hurricane plans in place just in case? Spent too much time on the Weather Channel tonight!

They both have links to weather alerts on their home pages. FSU isn’t expecting much more than a heavy rainstorm. UF is expecting the worst on Thursday afternoon/evening, so it’s too early to cancel classes

This was a section of an e-mail, sent out to the Gator Parent and Family Association. Both Universities (in fact, all 12 public universities in Florida) have hurricane/increment weather plans, that are fairly detailed. Part of it is communications (as you can see below), the other part is handling logistics on campus.

I remember being in Gainesville one year when a tornado went down the next street.

To be honest, I’m not completely “in the know” about this tropical storm. I know there’s one out there and it’s name isn’t “Hermione” and it’s been raining non-stop, but that’s about it. I’m 100% sure, though, that the universities have plans and students will be okay.

To be more honest, I’m worried about the flooding that is happening.

My daughter, on the Space Coast, says it is raining buckets.
