My H just went to Giant supermarket. I donāt shop there because they are always more expensive. He went to get his mom a few things - a squeeze bottle of Simply Heinz ketchup was $7.19!
I stopped at an Inde market on the way home a couple days ago and they had one brand of eggs available and not that many of them. The price? $12.99/dozen. And people were buying them.
I was told both the local Safeways and Trader Joeās were out of eggs.
FYI
Last week, eggs were under $2 at Aldi. Monday they were $3.97. Lots of eggs in Christmas holiday cooking!
Those kirkland eggs were nowhere to be found in a mountain state not involved in the recall. All they had were an 18 count, not kirkland brand, at over $3.50 a dozen, and i was glad to find them!
we are currently in a winter resort town. I had some groceries pre-purchased and delivered to our condo. The dozen eggs they bought were cage free brown eggs (which is not something I would normally buy, but fine) and they cost a little over $5 for the dozen. All in all, for what they are and where we are, I didnāt think that was too crazy.
At our Safeway grocery store yesterday the eggs were all over $5/dozen. I have noticed they seem a little pricier each winter, but that was a shocker.
Our Aldi has been $3.96/dozen for a few weeks.
Same with ours. I went with cage free brown eggs for $3.99.
Our local farms sell fresh eggs daily for about $5 a dozen. Plus there are a lot of egg stands in our area as well. Iāll be buying most of my eggs from local sources.
When I am at the local bulk store, I usually buy their $7 local eggs (and drop off old egg cartons). LOL - When they are expensive at the grocery store, itās less of a splurge doing so to support local farms / business.
At Walmart today, eggs were all over $9/dozen. Wowser.
I went to a trader Joe this weekend with my mom, no eggs. I ordered my grocery freshdirect and was able to get organic eggs for 3.99. Itās the same price I have been paying this year. I got a dozen for my mom.
We have been getting eggs at our local farm markers. There are two. Eggs are $5 a dozenā¦but very fresh!
I paid $3.49 for a dozen eggs a week ago at my Trader Joes, while our local grocery chain, Giant, has eggs for $6.50/dz. While I donāt normally shop at Lidl, our local Lidl has eggs for $3.30/dz.
(This is DC/Balt suburban area)
At Walmart the other day cartons of 18 eggs cost 7.22. Just over 40 cents per egg. This is south central CT.
Just paid $3.97 for a dozen large eggs.
I just canāt wait for eggs to go back to $0.99 a dozen.
I first went to Trader Joeās and no eggs to be found. Went across the parking lot to Albertsons and they had a 1/4 filled case with all their own brand eggs. 11.98 a dozen. These were basic white eggs, no cage free or pasture raised. Everyone who looked couldnāt believe that they were basically $1 an egg.
