Ego

The irony.

Perhaps TCBH is just jealous of your ability to play the trumpet:]

Ya, get an ego and then most people will not like you. You can always go around telling people you play a lot of instruments since it is your band director who said it. But these instruments are ones you can’t really play but have just picked up before, that’s what a kid does at my school who has a VERY big ego.

My brothers play the trumpet. They know all the best trumpet jokes.

Why do clarinetists place their cases on the dashboard?
So they can park in handicapped spaces.

Wait, ThisCouldBeHeavn has brothers? Did I read that correctly? Like, I’ve seriously never heard of an Asian family having at least three kids lol.

You already have an ego. Without an ego, your superego would not be able to negotiate with you id and you would be a psychological wreck.

Oh, the other definition of ego…

To gain an ego: get 2100+ on SAT and take all AP classes. And succeed in them.

Anyone whose ego inflates as a result of a 2100 will be brought down to quite a painful reality seeing the results thread of any SAT on CC.

Isn’t the CC minimum above a 2350?

^^ That’s true. :frowning: My ego was brought down after coming to this place. I need to inflate it again my increasing by score by 300.

haha I feel like some ppl need to take their egos down a notch. there’s a line between being confident and being arrogant. just love yourself and what you have accomplished. there’s no reason to have an attitude about it… but that’s just my personal opinion

^ Hippie. I suppose you’re going to Brown University?

Idk if this is an Asian thing remaining with me from the my young days of living in Korea, but I never respected a “big ego”. Means arrogant, no?

Be confident, but always be aware that there is and there will be people better than you. Humility isn’t a bad thing :O

Well…then I need confidence!

My band director has talked to me several times about how I could be sitting first chair if I had more confidence and it makes me feel like I am not acquiring my best without it. I want to do my best!

@gedion9324 lol noo I’m a junior and I’m not applying to brown :stuck_out_tongue: but nice try. I’ve actually never been called a hippie before but I really do think that humility is important because it’s such a shame when people let their egos ruin their personalities.

@youwish you are probably amazingly talented!! just believe in yourself and things will fall into place, especially since your band director believes in you too! :)

I started attending leadership classes! They should help!
